Brian E. Scott, DDS

Dr. Brian E. Scott has enjoyed practicing Preventive and Comprehensive Restorative Dentistry for 26 years at Palo Alto Dental Group. His goals are to establish optimal dental health for his patients and then to work together with his staff and his patients to maintain this level of health. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkley and the Case School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.

Serving in roles of leadership in the dental profession, Dr. Scott has worked to improve the dental health of the people of California. He currently serves as the President of the California Dental Association. He is a past President of the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, a past chair of the California Dental Association Foundation and a delegate to the American Dental Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He also served 22 years in the U.S. Navel Reserve Dental Corps, retiring at the rank of Captain.

Robert V. Iverson, DMD

Dr. Iverson earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Oregon State University, and his dental degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry. After graduating, he completed a general practice residency in dentistry, then served in the United States Naval Support Forces in Antarctica. An esteemed member of the dental community, Dr. Iverson has completed a two-year course in Advanced Restorative Dentistry from the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education and two years of study at the OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry. He is also a member of many leading dental organizations, and a medical representative for the US Antarctic Search and Rescue team. Outside the office, he enjoys skiing, squash, tennis, biking, wakeboarding, audio books, running and spending time with his wife and two children.

Peter C. Kono, DDS

Dr. Peter Kono has been a member of the Palo Alto Dental group team since 1998. He embraces dentistry and the increasingly innovative dental techniques available. Dr. Kono provides his patients with high-quality preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, while offering them the personalized attention they deserve. He values the opportunity to provide his patients with the best smile possible. He is trained and certified in the Plasma-Arc teeth whitening system and the placement of Lumineer Veneers (Prepless). Dr. Kono's goal is to exceed his patients' expectations of care and service

Born in Vietnam, Dr. Kono moved to New Hampshire in 1973. He earned his undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and graduated at the top of his class from the Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago in 1992. After graduation, Dr. Kono completed a one year General Practice Residency with the U.S. Navy a the Naval Hospital in Oakland. For the next two years, the USS Bellauwood LHA-3 (home ported in Sasebo, Japan) was home, where he served as the Dental Department Head. Dr. Kono completed his active duty status at the Naval Air Station in Key West, Florida.

Dr. Kono is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), Peninsula Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (PIADS), Baja Medical/Dental Study Club, and is a past member of the Seattle Study Club and ICOC.

In his off-time, Dr. Kono enjoys spending time with his sons, fishing, diving, riding motorcycles, as well as coaching and playing ice hockey.

Shachi Bahl, DDS

Dr. Bahl takes great pride in being part of the Palo Alto Dental Group. Her philosophy of practice is quality conservative care and with sincerity and kindness. She welcomes patients of all ages and her greatest joy at work comes from helping and creating a personal connection with them.

Dr. Shachi Bahl received her dental education at Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where she graduated top of her class in 1993. Dr. Shachi Bahl has also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) two-year program at UCSF from 1994 through 1996. Dr. Shachi Bahl has co-authored a publication on Oral Medicine in the Journal of the American Dental Association.

She is a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society and she is also a participant of the Peninsula Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Shachi Bahl and her husband are settled in Palo Alto. They have two children and she enjoys being a part of the community she practices in.

Martha G. Vanzina, DDS

Dr. Vanzina has been setting the highest standards of excellence in dentistry since 1988. She received her dental education at the prestigious Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Columbia. After earning her degree, she then completed a specialized residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, also from that institution.

An esteemed member of the dental community, she has published a scientific article on arthroscopy in a peer-reviewed journal and is an active member of many top dental organizations, including: ADA, CDA, Academy of General Dentistry, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society and Peninsula Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

She regularly helps her community by assisting low income patients at local churches and non-profit organization. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and spending time with her family.
